Welcome to this ambitious work called 1,000 Greatest Songs Ever!!.

Before starting, I will tell you a little about myself. My name is Nicolas Ilari, I'm from Argentina, I'm a musician, as well as a music teacher, since I'm 6 years old, music is my passion and over time I began to be curious about what those records would be that changed the course of the history of the music, so, the first collection that I acquired was Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Song Ever, but that was not enough for me, so I later ventured into other lists. Until one day I thought: What would be a definitive list of the best songs in history? and that's when I started this project. This is a summarized version of how it all started, since I do not want to bore you and take you directly to the list. But before finishing, I want to emphasize that I took inspiration for this work from the TSPDT site, which did the same work as me but with movies.

If you are a lover of music (and charts) this list is for you.

Within this list there are songs that span a period of 100 years, with 1909 being the oldest, and 2019 being the newest.

You will find great classics, and also new hits that could become classics in about 10 years (time will tell).

Is this the best list ever? It could be, you will judge that. But if I dare to say that is the "ultimate" list, not definitive, since it will be updated over time, but "ultimate."

Surely some positions on the chart will attract your attention (hey, even I don't agree with some rankings, just wait to see where "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Holywood is), but in short, more than 2,000 lists have been compiled to arrive to this end, so, there will be some reason for that location on the chart.

The act with the most songs on the list are (of course) The Beatles, with 26 songs.

If you are someone who has never heard these songs, oh boy let me tell you that I envy you. Can you imagine hearing these works for the first time?

This journey will be incredible. I hope you enjoy!!

Unlike TSPDT this list will not be updated annually but every 3 years or so. That way the songs in the list will have time to settle and be part of the story for a while before being displaced by other songs that in some years will be more important for the course of history.

What's the difference with Acclaimed Music Forum chart?

well, just the punctuation system. Acclaimed Music rank their charts by "match-up" between songs and albums.

Here we add those scores according to:
- The number of appearances in lists
- How high appear in those lists
- What kind of lists are they? (End of years, End of decade, All times) ... an "All times" lists will always weigh more than the rest.

Ultimately, I included in the ballots literally all the same lists as Acclaimed Music (maybe I added or removed some due to different criteria). The only thing that changes is the scoring system.

This is the order of "weight" of the lists:

- All time lists (i.e. 500 greatest songs by Rolling Stone)

- "Best of decade" lists (NME's best of 2000)

- Best song of a genre (100 best Rap Songs)

- End of year list (Best songs of 2019)

- Best song from an only artist (100 greatest Beatles Songs)

"curiosity" lists, or "fun" list are not included (i.e. The Best Songs to Travel)

All the ballots I researched to carry out this work can be found at www.rocklistmusic.co.uk  (and also some other lists that are not found on that site, but I have taken the trouble to search)

Ok, take me to the list!
